Description

From the photographer: “At night, one of Queenstown Gardens in New Zealand lights up with a colorful fountain, but that’s not enough to diminish the spectacular sky overhead. Just below the image center, and just above the trees, lie a pair of the most famous stars of the Southern Hemisphere sky: on the left, Beta Centauri, and on the right Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system to our Sun, at a distance of only 4.3 light years.”
