Galaxy and the Light Pollution

From the photographer: “Light pollution coming out from the city of Ioannina in Greece and the Milky Way galaxy above it. It shows the beauty of the dark skies lost into the cities which are filled with light pollution. It is an interesting combination with the tree which is half naked and half blossomed which shows how bad things can turn or the fight between light pollution against the dark sky. The image was made on the Mitsikeli mountain at an altitude of about 800m with a Canon 5D mark 1 and a 14mm Sigma lens at f/4.”
