Description

A photo composite of two exposures. From the photographer: “The center of our galaxy, the Milky Way, with all its details from dark nebulae to emission nebulae, from star clusters to the main stars of the scorpion. The lighter areas are due to the very high density of stars present in the galactic center while the dark areas are such because the interstellar dust blocks the light of the stars. The image was taken from the marine reserve of the Plemmirio near Syracuse (Sicily) and shows the milky way rising over the elephant rock whose name derives from the particular shape.”

Technical details: Canon 6d, Sigma 50mm, f/2, Iso 800, 122 sec, two shots, one tracked
