Description

The great Leonid meteor shower of November 2001 as seen above the Pinnacles natural structures in Nambung National Park of Western Australia. The glowing trail of the Leonid fireball begins to drift towards the constellation of Taurus, as the trail is rapidly affected by the high speed upper atmospheric winds. The trail remained visible to the unaided eye for several minutes. The photographer used a tracking mount to track the stars for this exposure.
