Fireball at the Celestial Pole
Description
The equatorial region is the only place on the Earth that the celestial poles are located right at the horizon. TWAN photographer Stephane Guisard was right at the zero degree latitude in the country of Ecuador to make this circumpolar startrails around the south celestial pole. During the long digitally accumulated exposure a fireball (very bright meteor) has streaked the extreme southern sky. This image is a part of a unique all-sky view which shows stratrails from the equator.
