Fantastic Halos and Planets
Description
From the photographer: “The alignment of Venus-Saturn-Jupiter in December 2021 gave us very beautiful scenes to capture. During their conjunction with the Moon, I witnessed for the first time 3 halo phenomena occurred simultaneously. In this case the halo shows itself around the brightest objects: the Moon in the center, Venus below and Jupiter above (Saturn is in the middle between Venus and Jupiter). These halos are formed when ice crystals are present in the atmosphere and the light of the moon or the brightest stars is refracted by these tiny crystals which therefore give us an optical phenomenon like the one observed in the photo.”
