A magnificent view of March 2006 total solar eclipse above Mount Elbrus in Caucasus mountain range. The photo is a combination of 7 shots taken on a fixed tripod with time exposure in of range 1 to 8 seconds. Mt. Elbrus (west summit) stands at about 5,640 meters and can be considered to be the highest mountain in Europe; as well as the highest point of Russia. The east summit is slightly lower at about 5,620 meters. The name Elbrus is most probably originated from Alborz, a legendary mountain in Persian mythology. Photo and process by: Mikhail Lisakov, Aleksandr Yuferev, and E. kazakov
