Description

Time-lapse video: On the night of winter solstice in the northern hemisphere (Dec. 20/21) a total lunar eclipse is in process over snow-covered landscape of Yellowknife in the northern Canada. During the total eclipse the faint eclipsed moon allows aurora to be clearly visible. But as the total eclipse proceeds to the partial phase, stars and aurora disappear in the glare of the full Moon. As noted by the photographer “Auroras were dancing in the northern sky throughout the eclipse. What a night!”
