Downtown Milky Way
Description
The Milky Way looks brightest in the direction of the constellations of Sagittarius and Scorpius, toward the galactic center; the rotational center of the galaxy some 26,000 light years away from the Earth which is hidden from the prying eyes of optical telescopes by million of stars and clouds of obscuring dust and gas. There is a supermassive black hole at the galactic center of the Milky Way.
