Description

Constellation Canis Major with the brightest star of night sky, Sirius, shines above a rare scene in Southern California. As noted by the photographer “after a record snow falls here in the southern California deserts, I was able to spend a fabulous evening in nearby Joshua Tree National Park (my nearest dark sky site) about a 150 miles from Long Beach. There was so much snowfall that the park was closed for 2 days prior. I spent 6 marvelous hours hiking about enjoying the night sky and taking images.”
