Dawn at Mount Shasta
Description
In the morning twilight of March 27th, the setting full moon and campfire were illuminating the foreground when the Milky Way appeared above Mount Shasta, before the approaching sunrise vanishes the night sky. Shasta is a potentially active volcano in Northern California towering at 14,179 feet (4,322 meters). It is the second-highest peak in the Cascade Range and has significant historical significance. The indigenous Klamath peoples have held the peak sacred and believe it to be inhabited by spirits.
