Curiosity ᐉ

Curiosity is one of the main reasons we are different from other species. Humans explore the universe out of curiosity, not for our immediate physical needs. Our curiosity often changes our world with new technology and a better understanding of nature. Music is “Poem Master” by composer Barbad Bayat, performed by National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. The night sky is reflected on a 17-meter (56-foot) mirror of the MAGIC telescope (an array of several). It observes gamma rays indirectly (as they are blocked in the atmosphere) by detecting brief flashes of optical light, called Cherenkov light. The timelapse is filmed at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma in the Canary Islands. I visit this dark sky paradise annually for my Astromaster photo workshop.
