Description

As comet Leonard was heading to the sun I knew I had to catch this comet before that close event as it may have disintegrated, so when there was a clear evening forecasted in the far eastern section of Joshua Tree I headed there about 160 miles into the desert from my home in Long Beach.  Luckily as the comet rose in the colorful morning dawn I was able to take several shots before the clouds rolled in from the west. Using an older Nikon D750 camera, Rokinon 135mm F/2 lens and set iso at 1600 I was able to take this 5 second shot on tripod without tracking.
