Description

From the photographer: “Comet Atlas is still slightly visible to averted vision with the naked eye. We’ve been extremely fortunate to have many clear nights in a row here in upstate NY. Last night we were blessed with clear skies and no wind.

I went to The Ashokan Reservoir to capture the first image. I shot 3x 15s horizontal shots at 16mm and stitched them together for the vertical panorama. The comet can be seen next to the milkyway above the aqueduct. The still conditions allowed for some spectacular reflections of the stars in the water.

For the second shot I went to the top of Chase Road in Shokan with permission from the locals. I shot one image, a self-portrait on a small red fishing dock. I really liked both of these shots and could not decide which to submit so I am sending both.”
