Description

The mythical moments of a total solar eclipse. The mid-day night of 2008 August 1 is captured in China. The “stars” at upper left side of the eclipsed sun are planets Mercury and Venus. As noted by the photographer “The scene certainly shows the drama that preceded the eclipse as we wondered whether the Sun would be in a clear opening in the clouds. The original frame also shows stars Regulus to the left of Venus, and Pollux and Castor at the right edge of the frame”.
