Description

Northern stars circle above a temple in South Korea. This stone Buddha is made during the Goryeo dynasty, an ancient Korean state (918-1392). As noted by the photographer “In Korea, at the longest winter nights, I can make 12 hours of night-time exposure to create such half circles of startrails, circling the north celestial pole because of the earth rotation. For 6 years I tried this image for more than 10 times to get this result.”
