Bright Planets, Big City

What are those bright lights in the evening sky? They are the two brightest planets visible from our planet, Venus and Jupiter in their closest conjunction since 1999. Only 1/3 degrees of sky were separating them on 2015 July 1, when the two were shining over the city of Bursa, Turkey, after sunset.
