Description

The Milky Way Galaxy stretches above a tree next to the 64-metre radio-telescope also known as “The Dish”. Thanks to private 100-million funding, the 64-metre antenna in Parkes together with the 100-metre Greenbank radio-telescope will participate in the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) for the next 10 years. During the project two most powerful radio-telescopes will listen for broadcast signals from a million of the stars closest to Earth and all scientific data will be made public. Click the second photo to see two TWAN photographers, Alex Cherney (left) and Babak Tafreshi, imaging at the Parkes.
