Description

HDR image of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “For around a year I’ve been living in Athens; the capital of Greece. Being close to nature is something that I missed from the beginning of my stay, however, Athens is a city full of great historical monuments and archeological places that are always interesting subjects for photography. In regards to astrophotography and more specifically moon photography, the Acropolis and the temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion are the most famous and well-photographed sites. For months I hadn’t tried to capture a single image inside the city, so this was the right chance. Immediately after returning from the office, I took my gear and went close to the National Observatory of Athens, on the west side of Acropolis Hill, in order to capture the Blue supermoon of August rising close behind the Acropolis (the second supermoon during the same month). It was a special night also because Saturn was very close to the full moon.”
