Blue Moon Halo in Antarctic Snow

From the photographer: “At the beginning of that night, I was so excited that the so-called blue moon appeared, rarely photographed from Antarctica. However it started to snow later. All in a sudden, I turned on my camera flash, and this photo was taken, containing the blue moon with the sparking snowflakes. This photo was chosen as APOD of August 11, 2015.”
