Description

From the photographer: “This is the church of San Giorgio in Modica (Sicily) and is included in the list of World Heritage Sites (UNESCO). For many it is considered the symbolic monument of Sicilian Baroque. In the internal flooring, under the main altar, there is a particular horizontal analemmatic sundial with a pinhole located to the right of the altar and at a height of about 14 meters.Today, 21 October 2021, from a calculated position, it was possible to see the Moon rising above the church. I managed not to miss this show. ” Click on the second photo for a wider view.
