Description

Photographed under impressively dark sky of Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii, this film exposure with a home-made 4X5 large format camera has captured the autumn sky as seen from the northern hemisphere. Winter constellation and their bright stars are rising from the east (left) while the pale blue zodiacal light (sunlight reflection from the dust in the Solar System plane) is stretched across the sky. Move the slider on the image to see the constellation lines and marked deep sky objects.
