Autumn Night Sky
Description
The night sky stretches above a ruined castle near Uppsala, Sweden. The Double Star Cluster in Perseus is visible along the autumn Milky Way in the upper middle. The Andromeda Galaxy or M31 is the little elongated cloud on the left, home to about a trillion stars. Away from major cities the Andromeda Galaxy is visible to unaided eyes the way it appears here. About 2.5 million lights years away, to most people it is the furthest object visible with naked eyes.
