Description

From the photographer: “The ever-changing shapes of Aurora over the ever-changing shape of Vatnajökull. The glaciers in Iceland are covering about 11% of Iceland’s surface and are melting faster then they can recover. Vatnajökull glacier looses on average about 4 km3 of ice every year which is equivalent to the ice sheet to loose about 0.5m in thickness every year. In 200 years it is likely that all glaciers in Iceland has lost their status as a glacier.”
