Description

As seen on Astronomy Picture of the Day in a clear moonlit night of September strong aurora activity is captured in this stunning view from Yellowknife in the northern Canada. Calm water reflects the aurora, with bright star trails peering through the mesmerizing northern lights. The long-exposure image is result of a photo sequence that lasted about an hour. Although the seasonal connection is still puzzling, both spring and autumn bring an increase in geomagnetic storms.

Jose, you are indeed welcomed to share the page that contains the picture. We prefer the pictures in TWAN galleries to be shared as links to TWAN pages rather than having only the pictures posted on Facebook timelines due to copyright policies of websites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.
