Description

An incredibly colorful display of the northern lights, produced in 8K resolution. Crown is the most intense form of aurora, appearing overhead, when the lights change every second in color and shape. The experience of seeing this is far greater than any picture. Although its looks less colorful to our eyes, the crown is still stunning visually. After seeing a crown you realize why native cultures of the far north are so deeply connected to these mysterious lights. They happen when a sudden massive flux of high energy charged particles from the sun (solar wind) arrive at our planet territory, creating a geomagnetic storm. The timelapse sequence is taken in Iceland after a massive solar storm that reached the Earth on 2015 March 17. Soundtrack by Ali Raini & Max Noizefield https://tonelabs.com
