At the Edge of Space
The Noctilucent or night-shining clouds (NLCs) above the Swedish Islands of Koster. NLCs lie near the edge of space, reflecting sunlight from about 80 kilometers above Earth’s surface. They are usually spotted above the Polar Regions in summer.
To the west of the city Strömstad lie the Koster Islands, noted for the beauty of its scenery. The couple islands are Sweden´s most westerly populated islands.
