Description

Lots of colourful airglow is visible in this panorama taken in Yellowstone National Park. Airglow is a faint emission of light in the high atmosphere of our planet. It can be barely seen with the naked eye, but it can be beautifully captured in photos. Here, both green and purple airglow was photographed.

This panorama of single-exposure photos stretches from Ursa Major (to the left) to Aquarius. An eruption of the Old Faithful Geyser can be seen to the right.
