Above the Volcano, Around the Pole

This one hour time-exposure image shows the rotation of the sky (star trails) around the north celestial pole, marked by Polaris. On the Earth are spring flowers in the World Heritage Site of Teide National Park and the top of Mount Teide, an impressive volcano that has formed Tenerife, Canary Island. Teide is 3718 meters high, the highest peak in Spain. It is approximately 7500 m above the floor of the Atlantic Ocean which also makes it the highest point on the entire Ocean.
