Description

Evening twilight at Meteora in Greece. Venus is elegantly shining in dusk over an amazing view, a scene that reminds science fiction. The names means “middle of the sky” or “in the heavens above”. The World Heritage site of Meteora is a historic complex of lofty bizarre monasteries monasteries which are built on (or inside) natural sandstone rock pillars. Some are about a thousand years old. Click on the second photo to see another view of this scene.
