Description

The evening twilight welcomes a starry winter night over the Great Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, northwestern India. The photographer camp is visible in the endless white sea salt desert. Prominent winter stars are visible from Sirius near the horizon to constellations Orion and Taurus (higher up), and Gemini (left). The Great Rann of Kutch (ran means desert in Hindi) is located in the Thar Desert at the border of India and the Pakistan. With size of over 7000 square kilometers it is known as the largest salt desert in the world.

    Just curious as to the length of your lens? Also what was the temperature? It just looks cold.

    Hello Dick,

    Thanks, I used a Bower 8mm Fisheye Lens. It was not so cold, minimum temperature went to about 5°Celcius. The white that you see on the ground is salt, not snow! but it does look cold.
