Description

In a crystal clear moonlit night the winter stars appear over snow covered peaks of Mt Uludag in Turkey. The entire Winter Hexagon appears in the center and upper right of the image. It is a celestial asterism with vertices at bright star Rigel, Aldebaran, Capella, Pollux/Castor, Procyon, and Sirius. It is mostly in the northern hemisphere of the sky. Click on the second photo to see another nightscape view of the night, captured just before moonrise.
