A Comet in Winter Sky

This deep black & white image, made with a narrowband filter to reduce sky glow caused by light pollution, includes constellation Taurus with the Pleiades star cluster, bright planet Jupiter, and Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2 (upper right). The little cloud at top is the California Nebula. The image is taken only 70km northeast of Stockholm, with its bright glow masked by the trees. The long exposure image is made using a star tracking mount, which caused motion blur on the foreground trees.
