Ollie Taylor
After practicing landscape photography since 2003, he got hooked on night photography during a month-long travel photography commission in Iceland at the end of 2010, from which multiple tour agencies still use some of the acquired imagery to this day.Slowly developing his landscape astrophotography technique and trying to retain a natural look to his work, in 2013 he ran his first landscape astrophotography workshops; in early 2014 Ollie quit his 9-5 and entered the realm of full-time freelancing as a landscape astrophotographer, setting up the first structured landscape astrophotography workshops of their kind in Europe, thus rendering him amongst, at the time, a very small group of the first landscape astrophotography tutors in the world. The photography workshops provide photographers with the opportunity to learn night sky photography techniques whilst located within a traditional rural or coastal landscape photography environment with many tours over the last 5 years now also combining daytime landscape photography. The 1-2-1 and group photography workshops offer destinations across the planet.Ollie has remained fiercely independent, even after the pandemic which had a devastating effect on many travel-based photographers and tour organisations; he still prefers to work solo than with the larger photographic tour companies and structure his own tours; however he has worked with and run tours for several external companies such as The Royal Photographic Society, The Royal Horticultural Society and astrophotography workshops in Cyprus for The 6×6 Centre for Photography.
