Morteza Nikoubazl
I was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1974. I studied graphic design at Art School and later pursued photography at the Art and Architecture College of Azad University. My fascination with photography began in childhood when I picked up a camera and captured my first image—a mountain. It felt miraculous to preserve such a vast scene on a small piece of photographic film. After graduating, I began working as a freelance photographer for Iranian newspapers and later joined Reuters, covering news and events. Over the years, my work has also appeared in outlets such as The New York Times International, NGM Farsi (as both a photographer and summer school curator), Zuma Press, and SIPA Press. I am currently collaborating with the NurPhoto press photo agency.
