Who is Rui Santos? From an early age, he developed a self-taught spirit in the field of the arts, where he found both a form of expression and a refuge from the adversities of daily life. This creative journey began in 2007 in the world of music. During this musical period, he traveled across the country, which drew his attention to the many nuances of nature and the beauty of the Portuguese landscape.In 2020 came the awakening to photography. He then decided to dedicate himself to visual art under the name Living Impressions – Photography.Over the years, he has had the privilege of seeing his work published in National Geographic (PT), Astronomy (USA), BBC Sky at Night (UK), Astronomia (ES), Cosmo 2050 (IT), Perspetiva (PT), and in the Amateur Astrophotography Ezine (USA).He has been featured multiple times by NASA in the Astronomy Picture of the Day section, published by USRA in the Earth Science Picture of the Day section, and showcased on other renowned scientific platforms such as Space (UK), EarthSky (USA), Sky and Telescope (USA), and The World at Night (IR).His work has been mentioned in media articles and exhibited in group shows. He participates in photography competitions, winning several national and international awards. In December 2024, he inaugurated The Space Within Us, an astrophotographic exhibition that merges the mysteries of the universe with those of the human soul, inviting viewers to reflect on their connection to the stars and their relentless search for meaning. In 2025, he was invited to join Photographing Words, a project that brings together writers and photographers in a connection born of complicity and diversity.
