TWAN Exhibition Opens in East Asia

The first TWAN exhibition in East Asia started in Seoul, Korea on March 1, 2009. The exhibition of 42 The World at Night artwork photographs is displayed in CheongGye Gallery located on the first floor of Central Tourist Hotel in the heart of Seoul (The name of the gallery in Korean: 청계창작스튜디오 갤러리).

The TWAN exhibition is organized by collaboration between Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (National Observatory), Korea national committee of International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009), and Seoul City Government. The first TWAN-Korea exhibition ends on March 22, 2009.

According to Kwon O Chul, TWAN member in Korea, and the main organizer of the event, “The Korean IYA2009 committee plans to travel this exhibition in different cities of the country during 2009. Our goal is to show TWAN exhibitions to as many people as possible in Korea.” For next TWAN-Korea exhibition the Gwacheon National Science Museum is the partner and will host the exhibition at the venue which is the Korea’s largest science museum located in KyeongKi-Do. The date and detail information of the next coming events in Korea will be announced through TWAN website.

For public promoting the exhibition, a photo-based report and article of TWAN and the exhibition appeared in the March 2009 issue of monthly Science-DongA, the most successful popular science magazine Korea which reaches about 100,000 people in the country.
