New Event: TWAN in the Valley of Fire

“America the Beautiful at Night” is a photo exhibition by TWAN American team member, Wally Pacholka, through May 2008 in Valley of Fire State Park Visitor Center. The exhibition represents over 100 photographs of the night sky over America’s national parks and landmarks. Key parks represented include Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Mojave Preserve, Sequoia, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Great Basin, Kodachrome Basin, Rainbow Bridge, Cedar Breaks, Grand Staircase Escalante, Craters of the Moon, Natural Bridges, Hovenweep, Natural Bridges, Wupatki, Mono Lake, Goblin Valley, Ancient Bristlecone, Devil’s Postpile, and the Valley of Fire.
The Valley of Fire derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs. The State Park is located 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Las Vegas, off HighWay 15 in Nevada. The exhibition is open daily 8:30 to 16:30 until the end of May 2008 (Telephone: 702-397-6153). Wally Pacholka next exhibition will be in Bryce Canyon in Utah, during the canyon’s annual star party in June 25-28.
