The arc of Milky Way with bright winter gems is photographed in this panoramic photo from Yunnan Astronomical Observatory in southwestern China. Jupiter is the brightest object in the middle top. Canopus, the second brightest star in the night sky, is also visible in the lower left. The dome, housing a 2.4 meter diameter robotic telescope, reflects the light of rising moon. © Jeff Dai
