Description

From the photographer: “At dawn, on the 12th of August, and while I was in my hometown, I was able to capture the Venus and Jupiter conjunction. The alarm went off at 4:40 and by 5:00 I was already at the port of Ancient Epidaurus. The view was magical even before dawn, where the two planets were shining bright into the silence. I couldn’t stay in one place, I wanted to capture this view in every possible way, so I started walking from one side of the port to the other. The view was getting more and more interesting, while the red dawn colours were starting to kick in; but we’re running out of time, the sun will rise soon. It was that moment that I realized that in order to get a different perspective I have not only to change position from left to right, but also to change my altitude. That will make a huge difference in terms of composition, and so did I. I ran to the church, located on a small hill on the left-hand side of the port, and tried to find a good composition. That was it, the difference in altitude was the key factor, giving a 3-dimensional perspective to the image and also great interest.”
