Description

From the photographer: “On the morning of September 30th, I set out to capture the rising Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS). We set our gear up atop a hill, on the shore of a small lake fed by the melting spring snowpack. This overview was directly above a much larger glacier fed lake, which made for a beautiful vista to view the comet. Unfortunately there was a band of cloud blocking our view to the east, but while we were waiting I captured this image of the Southern Cross above the two lakes.”
