Transit of Venus, 2012

From the photographer: “To kiss the Venus transit, 2012 a goodbye I decided to photograph this transit in several situations in my home town, Esfahan. In 1874, a number of German researchers traveled to Iran, in order to observe & photograph the Venus transit of the year. There is a piece of stone as a souvenir from this group, kept in Vank church of Esfahan, Iran. I captured the great transit of Venus besides an Armenian church to memorize their historic observation! Then I moved to ancient Naghshe-Jahan square to photograph the transit above Sheikh lutfullah dome! A bird sitting on the dome, observing Venus decorated my shots. Finally it was the time to say: Goodbye forever! Owing to the fact that Venus transit is so rare, I warmly invite everybody to write a letter to the people observe the Venus transit, 2117 after 105 years for the first time. That’s really amazing how different our feeling is, in compare to those live in 2117. Technology, human, our planet & everything is changing rapidly during this time & no one knows what will happen in the future.
