Description

From the photographer: “Full moon at the perigee on the second highest peak of the Peloritani (Sicily): the Rocca di Novara or Rocca Salvatesta (1,430 m asl). There are many legends around this place also due to the presence of pareidolie on the rock that recall human and animal faces.

In front of the fortress of Novara, in fact, you can see the fortress of the Lion (1222). Its name is linked to the shape of the rock that resembles a lion lying on its paws. Legend has it that he was petrified by a lightning bolt from Zeus because he was envious of the link between the Lion and its owner, the giant Typhon. You may find more Moon trail photos Here, and a timelapse video Here.”

Technical details: Nikon D750; 1/10 sec; 600mm; ISO 100; f 6.3 (for single shot)

Is a very compact trace of the Moon that I use to highlight craters and lunar seas.
