Total Eclipse and Ukranian Church

From the photographer: “Absolutely nothing prepared me for the overwhelming flood of emotions that I experienced during this event. I completely understand now when they say that there is nothing like experiencing totality. It started with the anticipation and fear that the clouds would not clear in time. This lasted for over a week right up until the last minute. Then the growing excitement as the sun and moon started to break through the clouds, followed by complete awe and excitement when we watched the sky get dark, the lights of the church and the street turn on, and felt the temperature drop. Then to see this most spectacular and most eerie view of a thin dark ring “floating” in the sky above this beautiful Ukrainian church. Just wow!!! I absolutely thank God for this amazing place in the universe where we call home.

I had this location, steps from home, in my sights as the perfect spot to photograph the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. Thanks so much to the 62 Phantom Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (Grimsby, Ontario) for allowing me and some of my friends to gather on their property to capture images and enjoy this epic event.”
