Description

The stunning sky of the Atacama Desert in Chile appears over the fading glow of the evening twilight. The elongated band of the Zodiacal Light dissolves in the bright bulge of the Milky Way. Zodiacal light is the sunlight reflected and forward scattered by the dust in the plane of the Solar System. It is best visible under dark skies along the ecliptic as a faint but large cone-shaped glow right after the evening twilight or just before dawn.
