The View
Description
The Milky Way is “touched” by very bright parking lights of “The View” hotel opened at the Monument Valley, an iconic natural attraction at the border of Arizona and Utah. The flooding lights became the source of obscuring the natural view of night sky over the world-known landmark. © Wally Pacholka

How did they let that happen??? Unbelievable ! What’s next? A McDonald’s? Starbucks??
May 30, 2013 at 5:30 amI am planning a trip to AZ, was happy I was able to book a “Starview” room at The View, until I saw this.
August 8, 2015 at 6:40 amI’ve disabled exterior hotel lighting in the past, but this? I bet it is solar-controlled, no off switch.
At least my daylight viewing will pay dividends.
