The Pair Over Coastline of Caspian Sea

As seen on Astronomy Picture of the Day the two celestial beacons in this image, shining brightly in the east before sunrise, are planets Venus and Jupiter. In the serene foreground is the shoreline along the Miankaleh Peninsula and Gorgan Bay, an important bird and wildlife refuge in the southeastern Caspian Sea.
