Description

While most media are quite excited by the term supermoon, the TWAN photographer was most fascinated at this location by the super Earth: “That evening a super-earth could be observed in the Elbsandstein Mountains in Germany. The planet was just 1.5 m away from my camera. Roughly 400,000 km away, the moon was rising.” The Elbe Sandstone Mountains is a range at straddling the border between southeastern Germany and the Czech Republic. Also a national park the name derives from the sandstone which was eroded by the river Elbe. © Bernd Proschold
