Stars and Cumulonimbus over Saint Mary Statue
Description
From the photographer: “During a photo shoot of the starry sky over Statua della Madonna del Mare in Bova Marina (Southern Italy) this impressive cumulonimbus with a flash of lightning inside was approaching from the Aspromonte massif. It almost seems as if the statue is giving a warning of the upcoming thunderstorm by making an admonitory gesture with its index finger. The finger is pointing right up to the Northern Star (Polaris). On the left side of the picture one can see the shimmering lights of the community of Bova Marina on the Ionian Coast of Calabria (Mediterranean Sea).”
