Description

The International Space Station (ISS) and Space Shuttle Discovery (the dimmer trail at left) cross the sky above the ruins of Essegvar castle in Hungary. As noted by the photographer “There are many gaps in the trails because of the cloudy weather. The Shuttle already departed the ISS enroute to the Earth. As I was watching the pair the ISS huge solar panels flared just near the castle! Note the bright star Vega above the flare and a faint trail of an airplane on the image right side. The red colours of the clouds are coming from a nearby village. The image is a digital startrail composite of 18 shots, 15 seconds each.” © Tamas Ladanyi
